Quantitative determination of LDL Cholesterol in Serum or Plasma
Description
The test is based on the selective but reversible exclusion of LDL
from the reaction system. In a first analytical step, all non
consumed in the reaction scheme of Trinder (Cholesterol Esterase +
Cholesterol Oxidase + Peroxidase) producing a red color. Subsequently, a
special detergent makes the Cholesterol-LDH available again to the reaction,
which will react according to the Trinder scheme and will produce an increase
in the reaction color. The intensity of this increase, measured photometrically
at 600 nm (578 – 620), is proportional to the amount of LDL Cholesterol in the
sample.FIU_LDL DIRECT LS_ ENG REV.03-2019
